Jamie Allen is the creator of the Squirrel Census, a "citizen science" and storytelling project focusing on the Eastern gray. An example of the potential of story seen through multimedia channels, the Squirrel Census won a mention by Kickstarter as one of their favorite projects of the year (in 2012), and it has been featured in media outlets including NPR.org, Atlanta, and Georgia Public Broadcasting. The Squirrel Census team is currently planning a count of squirrels in Central Park in 2018.
Additionally, Jamie has over 20 years of writing experience. He was a journalist for CNN.com for five years, and he has published fiction and nonfiction in The Oxford American, The Missouri Review, Grantland, McSweeney's, Salon, Slate, New South, Paste, Atlanta, and other outlets.
With Chronicle, he works with designers, restaurants, urban planners, bands, and other creatives to help tell and promote their unique stories through all forms of media.
